Fiasco at “Bares for Rares”: Disappointed saleswoman takes the gift home again

The sale of a watch at “Bares für Rares” was supposed to bring some money into the wedding coffers, but unfortunately the gift turned out to be hot air.

Carina Hellauer from Obernzell in Bavaria received a men’s watch from her uncle for her confirmation. Sounds funny, but that’s how it was. The office clerk never wore the unusual one-hand, so the proceeds should now flow into her wedding party. But was the alarm clock good at least as an investment? Not at all, as “Bares for Rares” expert Sven Deutschmanek unfortunately had to find out.

Although the expert praised the good condition of the watch, he had to draw the seller’s attention to the enormous drop in price. After all, the good piece costs 1,500 euros to buy, but this sum is not even close to being achieved with a used model from this company. The manufacturer is simply too young and not sufficiently established on the market for this, according to the sobering statement from the expert. 400 euros is the maximum that could be achieved in the dealer room. Since Carina Hellauer wanted about twice as much, the disappointment was written all over her face.

Horst Lichter leaves the dealer card in place

Carina Hellauer did not want to sell her watch for 400 euros, so Horst Lichter had no choice but to keep the dealer card. According to the rules of “Bares for Rares”, only those who want to sell at least approximately the amount of the expertise are allowed to go to Waldi and Co. Horst Lichter also suspected that not even the 400 euros would be paid and therefore decided that the already quite kinked-looking to save the saleswoman from another disappointment. Let’s hope that at least the wedding went to her satisfaction.

Carina Hellauer is not the only one who experienced disappointment with “Bares for Rares”, as you can see in the video.

“Bares for Rares” runs on weekdays at 3:05 p.m. on ZDF, the offshoot ZDF Neo broadcasts repeats at 10:55 a.m. and at 7:20 p.m. The concept has not changed to this day. People like Carina Hellauer have their exhibits evaluated by experts and then haggle over the selling price in the dealer’s room.
