From November 8 to 14, an average of 53 people were hospitalized each day for COVID-19, an 8 percent increase from the previous period. There are currently 790 people with a corona infection in Belgian hospitals (-6 percent), of which 54 are in intensive care (-10 percent). This is evident from figures from Sciensano on Tuesday morning.

The number of reported new cases between November 5 and 11 – with an average of 650 new infections daily – also fell slightly (-1 percent) compared to the previous seven-day period. And during the same period, an average of 4.3 people who were infected with the virus died every day (-21 percent).
The positivity ratio is 13.6 percent and the reproduction number is 0.99. When that number is less than 1, the epidemic is declining.
