“Of all the days, I unfortunately woke up this morning with a fever,” says Rasmus Seebach.
The Danish pop king had to cancel the Danish Music Awards on Saturday night, where he would otherwise have received the prestigious ‘Honorary Award’, but illness got in the way.
In a message passed by Rasmus Seebach’s manager to BT, it sounds further annoying from Seebach:
“Even though I had been looking forward to it tonight for months, the only responsibility in my situation is to stay home and watch the show when it airs tomorrow (Sunday night ed.).”
“I’m hanging out a lot with the muzzle right now, but it does not change how proud and honored I am to receive this honor. I hope the industry and all my colleagues have a great evening. “
Rasmus Seebach is this year’s recipient of the ‘Honorary Award’ for his great impression on Danish music for now over ten years, since he broke through in 2009 with the song ‘Engel’.[display-posts orderby="rand"]
In the past, names like Thomas Helmig, Shu-bidua and Gasolin have received the ‘Honorary Award’.
As Rasmus Seebach could not be present in the hall, TV host Simi Jan had to receive the statuette on his behalf.
In connection with the show, she had been at the home of Rasmus Seebach to bring him the news in the first place, and therefore she should also have given him the award on stage.
She ended up standing alone while Rasmus Seebach has to keep up at home from the sickbed.
