Family festival in Sandringham
Christmas without Harry and Meghan?

The time has come in around five weeks: Christmas! The British royal family also usually celebrates the festival of festivals in a large circle. But Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan could be missing again. According to the US media, the decision has already been made.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are reportedly not going to the UK for Christmas. At least that is what the US portal “Page Six”, which belongs to the “New York Post”, claims to have found out.

The couple were invited to join the rest of the Sandringham royal family, the website said. Harry and Meghan would have canceled, however. The alleged reason is that the two wanted to avoid press reports surrounding their visit.

An unnamed insider said according to “Page Six” that the planning of the royal Christmas party was a big effort. “So of course the employees know that Harry and Meghan are not coming”. If they wanted to come, “they would have told their family in the meantime,” the informant said.

Together in the service

Since this will be Queen Elizabeth II’s first Christmas without her husband Prince Philip, who died in April, it was hoped “that they would want to be with her”. However, this does not seem to be confirmed now.

The Queen is usually visited by her family on the festive season at her Sandringham estate. Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Prince William and Duchess Kate then go to worship with the monarch, among other things.

Last Christmas together in 2018

Harry and Meghan were last at the Christmas party in Sandringham in 2018. Last year, the two announced that they were stepping down from their royal duties. The couple lives in Montecito, California, with their children Archie (2 years) and Lilibet (5 months).

Harry has been to the UK twice this year: once in April to attend his grandfather’s funeral. Another time in July to unveil a statue of his mother, Princess Diana, together with his brother William, in the park at Kensington Palace.
