Family and fans say goodbye to Deborah James (✝40)! The Brit lost her battle with cancer at the end of June. The presenter was diagnosed with the illness in 2016. Before her death, the BBC podcaster had taken numerous precautions – including provisions for her own funeral service, even including a dress code for the guests. This took place in a London church.
A black classic car can be seen in the photos of the ceremony, the Deborah’s plaited coffin carried to the church. Behind her husband Sebastian and their two children Hugo and Eloise led the funeral procession. Arriving at the church in London’s Barnes district, Sebastian and Hugo helped carry the coffin, according to the British news portal metro reported. During the service, the 14-year-old read a poem he had written himself.
His father Sebastian gave a eulogy for his deceased wife. Jazz singer Natalie Rushdie also performed the song “Tell Me It’s Not True”. After Mass, the family left the church in quiet contemplation.
