Dune: Part 2 casts an actor to play the Emperor of the universe

Acclaimed actor Christopher Walken has joined the cast of Dune: Part 2, according to a new report from Hollywood Reporter.

He will play Emperor Shaddam IV, also known as the Emperor of the Universe within the Dune story.

Christopher Walken is an actor with several popular works such as Catch Me If You Can, Legend of the Headless Horseman and Pulp Fiction.

He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Shooter, which was released in 1978. He also received a nomination in the same category for Catch Me If You Can.

Sequence in development

The cast of Dune: Part 2 will feature the return of Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Josh Brolin, among other actors.

Other new additions to the cast are Florence Pugh, from Black Widow, and Austin Butler, who plays Elvis Presley in Elvis.

Dune: Part 2 will be directed and co-written by Denis Villeneuve, who also worked on the first Dune.

The release of Dune: Part 2 is scheduled for October 20, 2023.
