Doctor Strange 2 Almost Had Deadpool

Warning: Contains Doctor Strange 2 Spoilers!

Looks like the rumors of Deadpool’s appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness were right after all.

Although Ryan Reynolds’ character has not actually appeared in the newest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, screenwriter Michael Waldron confirmed that his participation was considered in the many meetings held, but ended up dropping the idea.

“Yes, we talked about it. I think we talked about everything in this movie. So it would be crazy not to bring it up, but at the end of the day it didn’t feel… It just didn’t feel like the right place. But yeah, of course we talked about it.” Waldron told Comic Book.

Deadpool’s Entry into the MCU

In a way, it makes sense where things have turned out: while Marvel fans want to see Deadpool officially inserted into the MCU’s timelines, Doctor Strange’s tense story in the Multiverse of Madness didn’t seem to sit well with the chatty mercenary.

However, knowing that the directors and writers at Marvel have considered this possibility is already a positive thing, bringing the character closer and closer to debuting in the MCU. They just need to find the perfect occasion for it.

We already know that the Deadpool 3 movie will be produced by Marvel Studios, although its premiere may still take a while to happen.

In the meantime, you can check out Doctor Strange 2 in theaters.
