Director of ‘Shazam! 2’ comments on cameo being revealed early: “It’s not ideal”

Shazam!: Fury of the Gods‘ premieres next day 16 and the Warner Bros. discovery continues to release new TV spots to promote the sequel.

However, previews end up delivering spoilers adaptation, such as the unexpected participation of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot).

And it seems, the director David F. Sandberg did not expect this cameo to be revealed prior to the film’s release via TV commercials. On his Twitter, he warned fans who don’t like spoilers to avoid commercials and previews of his film.

“Well, there are some major ‘Shazam 2’ spoilers out there right now. If you want to go to the movies without knowing anything, maybe it’s better not to go online or watch the TV commercials… Good advice in general, actually.”

Asked by one user if he was upset about the situation, Sandberg didn’t seem too happy, but admitted that if it helps people check out ‘Shazam!: Fury of the Gods‘ in theaters, so it’s all right.

“I’m happy if I convince people to see the film. But of course it’s not ideal for people who would watch it anyway if they ended up seeing spoilers.”

A Twitter user shared one of these commercials, showing the Amazon interacting in a relaxed tone with the lived-in protagonist. Zachary Levi.

“’Shazam! 2′ is amazing! David F. Sandberg has created a fun and engaging story that the whole family can enjoy. Rachel Zegler, Jack Dylan Grazer and Dijmon Hounsou are the highlights. ‘Clash of the Gods’ is a super powerful and fun movie.”

“The Shazam family is back and ready for action in ‘Shazam! 2: Fury of the Gods’. Zachary Levi does an incredible job leading this family of superheroes into battle against a trio of despised gods. Full of humor and emotion, the film is definitely worth watching by anyone who likes the hero.”

“In the middle of ‘Shazam 2’ is a fun comedy starring Djimon Hounson and Jack Dylan Grazer. Unfortunately, you have to watch all of ‘Shazam 2’ to check it out. Some good points are overshadowed by a CGI-heavy third act in their final battle. Zachary Levi plays Billy like he’s part of the joke.”

“’Shazam continues to lean into goofiness and immaturity in this sequel, which reinforces the tone the franchise will continue to follow: light and fun. This new movie has more action, better villains and a complicated anti-hero. I also need to add that the dragon has much better CGI than ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘House of the Dragon’.”

“’Shazam 2′ is a fun sequel. It’s a solid and funny film, which manages to mix hilarious, emotional and heroic moments. The action scenes are even bigger and irreverent. Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu and Rachel Zegler are the highlights of the film. I also loved the dragon.”
