Dindori (Rep. of New Zealand). A meeting of Village Defense Committee members was organized on Sunday in the Kotwali premises. During this, the members were advised to make people aware to stay away from drugs including the missing of girls and other unwanted activities. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar, 129 village defense committees of Kotwali police station area have been trained at three levels. SI Gangotri Turkar posted in Kotwali told about the role of women in creating a safe and cultured environment in the society. He told that it is harmful to educate the children, not to discriminate between boys and girls, to enable the family members to discharge their responsibilities better, to leave the children’s home under the influence of others. Kotwali in-charge CK Sirame described the collective effort as necessary for the improvement of law and order. He asked the committees to inform the police about the people involved in unwanted activities. Also asked to keep an eye on them. The Kotwali in-charge also informed the committee members about the judicial process of the cases. SDOP Ravi Prakash advised to take action against the usurers, adulterers and people who take children and women on the pretext of work. During this discussion on preventing possible consumption of spurious liquor in the area, not sending objectionable religious posts in internet media were also discussed. The SDOP also informed about organizing a meeting of the police and villagers at the Panchayat level once a week from the coming days. He also appealed to the committee members to cooperate in the security arrangements regarding upcoming festivals.
