The most expensive movie in the history of Netflix, ‘Red alert‘, has already become a hit with streaming subscribers. But the production has been the target of great controversy among users of the Twitter, who found a grotesque error involving the geography of Brazil.
At a certain point in the film, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot e Ryan Reynolds, one of the protagonists discovers the coordinates of a historical relic he has been looking for years.
According to the plot, following the latitude and longitude that appear on the screen, the coordinates would indicate that the object in question would be in a province in northern Argentina.
However, the marker actually points to a region in southern Brazil, implying that such an Argentine province would be located within our country.
The geolocation error did not go unnoticed and many streaming users drew attention to it.
Check out some of the reactions:
The film Red Alert set a tropical forest in Argentina. @NetflixBrasil someone speaks

Are you not ashamed to produce a film, put coordinates from Brazil (more specifically in Horizontina/RS) saying that it is in Argentina and, on top of that, launch a forest imitating the Amazon on the scene? Whew![display-posts orderby="rand"]

I didn’t know Argentina was in Brazil…
In the movie #Red alert showed the map of South America and placed Argentina inside Brazil, the location is in the country Brazil and not Argentina. Argentina is not within Brazil

In the movie Netflix Red Alert they marked the wrong location, it was supposed to be Argentina, but they put it in Brazil kkkkkkkkk
American, it happens.
And of course you can’t miss it, it takes place in a FOREST. (The movie is not bad)

The Movie is all popcorn, but these grotesque geography errors are hard to swallow when you’re from the region.
Tropical forest, in the pampas, and on top of that, coordinates from Brazil, Argentina…

The feature is written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (‘Skyscraper’).
In the story, when Interpol issues the red alert — a global search and arrest warrant for the world’s most wanted criminals — it’s time for FBI top investigator John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) to step in. The hunt will put him in the middle of a daring assault plan, forcing him to team up with scammer Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) to capture the world’s most sought-after masterpiece thief, ‘The Bishop’ (Gal Gadot) . This grand adventure will take the trio around the globe, past dance floors, an isolated prison, through the jungle and, worst of all, constantly in each other’s company. The stellar cast also features Ritu Arya and Chris Diamantopoulos. Directed and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence, Skyscraper: Boundless Courage) and produced by Hiram Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, Beau Flynn of Flynn Picture Co., and Thurber’s Bad Version, Inc., Red Alert is an elegant cat and mouse game around the globe.
