Lucknow. Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that most of the deaths in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh are due to dengue fever (D2 strain). During a media briefing by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on Thursday, he said that we have been diagnosed with dengue after testing fever samples in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Bhargava said, the deaths in UP’s Firozabad and Mathura and even Agra are clearly due to dengue. He said that in the samples taken by ICMR from these districts, D2 strain has been found, which can cause bleeding and can prove fatal. During this, Bhargava advised the people of Uttar Pradesh to be careful about mosquitoes. He said that the people of the state should avoid allowing water to stagnate for a long time at places like mosquito breeding grounds. Let us inform that in the past, an 11-member team of ICMR had reached Firozabad and collected samples.
How dangerous is the D-2 strain of dengue?
According to experts, the D-2 strain of dengue is considered the most dangerous. In its infection, a red rash occurs on the patient’s body in 3 to 5 days. Along with this, the platelets of the blood in the body start decreasing rapidly. Experts say that dengue hemorrhagic fever and shock syndrome which can lead to death.

Dengue mosquitoes breed in stagnant clean water, such as coolers, water tanks, bird water vessels, freeze trays, coconut shells, etc.
Aedes mosquitoes spread dengue disease. It cannot fly long distances. Dengue mosquito bites during the day.
Dengue fever is caused by a type of virus. This disease is more common in rains.
Symptoms of dengue include pain in muscles and joints, sudden high fever, bleeding from the body in severe cases, red rash on hands and feet, mouth, severe pain and burning behind the eyes. Severe headache and vomiting.
It is noteworthy that for the last two weeks, the rapidly spreading infection of viral fever in Firozabad gradually converted into dengue and in the last one week, the outbreak of dengue spread from the city to the rural areas of the district.
