Demonstration for purchasing power: Brussels Airport cancels all its departing flights scheduled for this Monday!

“We cannot guarantee the safety of travelers,” spokeswoman Nathalie Pierard said.

A new update on the situation highlighted that even fewer workers from the security company G4S than announced would be providing security screening. Wait times threatened to exceed eight hours. The decision was therefore taken to cancel all departing passenger flights.

Inbound flights and cargo flights will be maintained. At the end of the afternoon, however, Brussels Airport announced 146 canceled arrivals.

These cancellations are a consequence of the national day of action by trade unions in favor of purchasing power, with a large demonstration in Brussels. Strike movements will be observed in various companies active at the airport, in security or handling in particular. A number of eating places could also be closed.
