In the comic book, Hugo Strange lures Batman into an office, where he reveals that he is wearing a vest containing several explosives. Batman initially does not believe that the villain is capable of taking his own life, but then Hugo Strange tells him that he has discovered that he has advanced cancer.

The villain activates the explosives and brutally kills himself, but Batman does not die from the explosion. Very intelligent, Hugo Strange was prepared for the possibility of the Dark Knight surviving, hiring a henchman to capture him and reveal his secret identity to the world.

It may have cost him his life, but it looks like Hugo Strange has finally come up with an effective plan to finish off Batman once and for all. It remains to be seen what the Dark Knight can do to save himself.
