DC disappoints Superman fans at SDCC 2022

DC disappointed Superman fans at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with the non-appearance of a major star.

Rumors circulated in the media about Henry Cavill appearing at the event, and announcing a new Superman project (via ScreenRant).

However, the star ended up not attending, as the rumors claimed. In recent days, speculation about Cavill and Superman has increased, giving fans hope.

The superhero hasn’t had a solo movie since 2013, with the last one having Zack Snyder at the helm. Cavill hasn’t appeared as Superman since 2017, with the failure of Justice League.

Despite this, Superman continued to be mentioned and made appearances. In 2019, the character had his head “cut off”, with only part of his body appearing in Shazam! More recently, he was seen flying in the Peacemaker series, not being able to see his face.

Warner wanted to replace Henry Cavill

Rumors that point out that Cavill may not return as Superman are nothing new. A new report reveals that Warners intended to replace the star in the role in 2018 (via The Direct).

After the failure of Justice League. the studio reconsidered some points. One of them was Zack Snyder’s version of Superman.

Batman was included in the list, and indeed, had his actor modified. The character played by Ben Affleck ended up giving way to Robert Pattinson in the Matt Reeves film.

Although Affleck exited the role in 2018, he will be in The Flash movie for a farewell. What’s more, rumors suggest that Cavill may appear in the feature film, but indecision surrounding the role remains.
