Covid: self-tests are free for case-contact children at school

In the schools, the number of children and staff tested positive is rising sharply every week. With more than 14,000 classes closed this Saturday across the country, the health protocol is getting harder and harder to hold on to parents of students. Children, who must be tested thrice as soon as a comrade is positive, now have the right to free self-tests, on presentation of a school certificate.

Health insurance therefore covers the three self-tests of a child case-contact, since it is in school. They will be issued in pharmacy upon presentation of a standard certificate given by the school, without charge for the family. Indeed, with the contaminations which continue to increase, the bill was salty, some children having to be tested every week.

Despite tensions in self-test stocks, pharmacies are holding up. 11 millions d’autotests were ordered last week, meeting the strong demand. Gabriel Attal, government spokesman, promised that there would be no no shortage d’autotests.
