When Prince Felix fills around in a little while, he will be surrounded by love. But this year, he has to do without his mother when he turns 20 years old.

The prince is abroad – and Countess Alexandra is unfortunately not with.

“He celebrates his birthday during a private holiday abroad,” the countess’s press adviser, Helle von Wildenrath Løvgreen, told BT

The other day, Princess Marie opened the exhibition ‘Margrethe II de Danemark, artiste-Reine’ at the Musée Henri-Martin in the town of Cahors close to the royal family’s wine castle, Chateau de Cayx.

Prince Felix visited Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and the children Prince Henrik and Princess Athena in the south of France.

The exhibition marks both the Queen’s 50th Government Anniversary and the close ties that have existed for generations between the Royal Family and the area around Cahors.

Last year, Princess Marie was appointed special cultural representative at the Danish embassy in Paris, and therefore it was she who opened the exhibition.

But of course she was also joined by her husband, Prince Joachim, as well as the children Prince Henrik, Princess Athena and Prince Felix.

The family has often enjoyed holidaying at Chateau de Cayx in the month of July, and so it was two years ago when Prince Felix turned 18 years old.

At that time, Countess Alexandra was also invited to the castle for Prince Felix’s birthday. But shortly after, Prince Joachim was hit by a blood clot that shook the entire royal family. Fortunately, he recovered quickly because Princess Marie reacted so quickly when the accident happened.

This year there is something to look forward to if you are holidaying at Chateau de Cayx. The 19th stage of the Tour de France runs right past the wine castle on Prince Felix’s birthday.

Thus, there is ample opportunity for Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and the family to also get a glimpse of the world’s best cyclists. It will be a hot day on Cayx on Friday with sun and 32 degrees.

Prince Felix revealed last year that he was allowed to borrow the castle from the Queen.

‘I’ve been to Cayx. It’s been a very long time since I’ve been there. It was just me with some friends. We just enjoyed the area and saw different tourist attractions, ”he explained to BT

However, it was not only the friends that Prince Felix was accompanied by.

“Yes, it actually was,” it sounded with a smile on the prince’s lip as BT inquired as to whether the holiday in French was also with girlfriend Karen Bak.

In June, however, Billed-Bladet reported that Prince Felix was no longer paired with Karen Bak.

Château de Cayx has been owned by the royal family since 1974, and Prince Henrik grew up in the beautiful region of the South of France.
