From January 6 to 12, the country’s hospitals admitted 65 Covid-19 patients daily, a number down 32% from the previous week. Currently, 1,025 people carrying the virus are hospitalized (-30%). Of these, 76 are treated at intensive care (-2%).
Between January 3 and 9, an average of 634 contamination were recorded each day, down 27% from the previous seven days. During this period, nearly 7,000 tests were carried out daily (-13%), of which 11.2% turned out to be positive.
Every day, an average of 9.6 people are deceased the consequences of a coronavirus infection (-22%). Since the start of the pandemic in Belgium in March 2020, more than 33,500 deaths from Covid-19 have been recorded.
