The preliminary draft royal decree carried by the Minister of Social Affairs Frank Vandenbroucke concerns, on the one hand, volunteers in vaccination centers and, on the other hand, those in the healthcare sector.

Until December 31, the higher annual reimbursement ceiling is 3,541 euros gross. Under the current scheme, one can be active for 100 days in a center which grants the maximum daily allowance of 35.41 euros. The draft decree brings the annual ceiling to 4,107.56 euros gross per year so that one can be active for 116 days at the rate of the maximum daily allowance.

With regard to screening and triage centers, the project aims to increase the annual ceiling of the flat-rate compensation for costs to 3,186.90 euros for volunteers who have been effectively deployed in the health care sector, for activities related to the management of the Covid-19 crisis, during the period from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 inclusive.
