Thursday, only Saint-Nicolas and Aalst still had a Christmas market scheduled.

Among the municipalities that have canceled their winter festivities are Beveren, Ninove, Dendermonde and Denderleeuw. From November 26, Christmas markets, winter villages and winter cafes will also be banned in Oudenaarde, Kluisbergen, Kruisem and Wortegem-Petegem. Other municipalities have also decided not to host Christmas markets. Where the municipal administration has not decided, it is often the organizers who have withdrawn themselves.

Governor of East Flanders Carina Van Cauter on Tuesday announced a ban on dance parties without professional supervision. Parties and events held in nightclubs and cafes are not affected by this police order and are maintained for the moment.
