Preparations have started for the next year 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. All political parties have started making strategies. The Congress party has also become active. The Congress on Friday constituted a screening committee under the chairmanship of party general secretary Jitendra Singh.

According to the party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has constituted a screening committee for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Congress General Secretary Jitendra Singh has been made the chairman of this committee. MP Deepender Hooda and Maharashtra government minister Varsha Gaikwad are its members.

Will decide on the names of the candidates
Party General Secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, State Congress Committee President Ajay Kumar Lallu, Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra and all national secretaries playing the role of co-in-charge of the party in the state will be ex-officio members in this committee. The Screening Committee of the Congress selects some names from the candidates for ticket from different assembly constituencies, which are sent to the Central Election Committee. Then the name of the candidates gets the final stamp.
