The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) issues a yellow alert for slippery conditions from 7 p.m. Saturday to Sunday morning, for all of Belgium with the exception of the provinces of East Flanders and West Flanders.
“Tonight and tonight, patches of frost or ice may form in places and make the roads slippery, especially in the center and south-east of the country.”
Tomorrow Sunday, the fog will be abundant with a few periods of rain or showers, which will shift to the east during the day. On the heights, precipitation may take on a wintery character. The maximum will be between 1 degree in the Ardennes and 8 degrees at sea. Moderate southwest winds will turn west-northwest along the coast.
During the night from Sunday to Monday, low clouds will remain predominant in upper Belgium and could still release some light precipitation locally. Fog will also form in several places. In lower and middle Belgium, sunny spells will develop first, before the formation of mist, fog banks and cloud fields later in the night. The minima will be between 0 and +6 degrees, under a light to moderate west to northwest wind.
