Chris Hemsworth Says He Was Dissatisfied With The Character Before ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

The first two films ‘Thor‘ divided critics and audiences, making the character of Chris Hemsworth one of the least popular among the Avengers.

His participation in the Avengers films was also in the shadow of other characters, such as Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr).

However, the thunder god had its image revitalized in ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ and became a rage among the public, gaining even more appeal in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Ultimatum’.

And even Hemsworth was dissatisfied with the character before the 3rd film, directed by Taika Waititi.

In an interview for vanity fairthe star said that:

Enjoy watching:

“I wasn’t satisfied with what I did in ‘Thor: The Dark World’. I was a little disheartened by what I had done and where the character was going.”

He continued:

“At that time, I don’t think he’s had an evolution since he arrived in the MCU, and I also didn’t show the audience something unexpected and different. This isn’t about the directors of the movies, it’s about my own frustration as an actor, you know? But that changed in ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ because I really wanted to get out of the box, and taika understood very well what I wanted to do.”

And the hero’s new approach made all the difference, since ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ it received 93% approval of criticism, against 77% from the first film (2011) and 66% in ‘Thor the Dark World‘ (2013).

And then, you think ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘ can surpass that mark?

Remembering that the new film hits national cinemas on July 7th.
