He left with 72 bottles

Accompanied by his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, Charles, who celebrated his 73rd birthday on Sunday, also joked: “Once you hit 95 it’s not as easy as it used to be. It’s hard enough at 73”. In confidence, he enjoyed the wonders of this trip to the Middle East. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall made a pilgrimage yesterday on the banks of the Jordan to the border with Israel. It is on this site, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, that John the Baptist lived and baptized Jesus.

Considered one of the holiest places in all of Christendom, it is visited by millions of tourists every year. And Prince Charles already has his habits there, since he would regularly have holy water delivered to London, directly. This time, it is said that he left with 72 bottles of holy water for the future baptisms of royal babies!

The general manager of the baptism site, Rustom Mkhjian, explains that “the people of the embassy asked for a few dozen [de bouteilles] holy water and we gave them five dozen, six dozen. They said it was for the children to be baptized later. It is pure water blessed from the place where Jesus was baptized. It is a special place in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan“.

Lilibet baptized with this water?

It must be said that within the Windsor clan, there are still some fronts to wet with the latest births! The last royal baby to be baptized in this way, in 2019, was Archie.
