Charity People are excited to be working in partnership with Oak Foundation, a fantastic human rights foundation, who are looking for a new Programme Assistant to join their growing team.

This is an exciting time to join the expanding International Human Right’s Programme Team in a programme coordination role. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the director of programmes and the wider programme team and stakeholders.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the grant-making process: especially the grant management system in order to facilitate team management as well as writing progress reports and end of grant reports.
  • Taking ownership to prepare reports and programme briefs whilst maintain the team’s calendar.
  • Provide administrative support to the team and log documents with response deadlines.
  • Plan events: coordinate team training activities and provide other logistical support.
  • Draft and prepare market material and communication updates including programme newsletters
  • Manage contracts and payments – provide support in drafting contracts and liaise with third party providers on various issues.

We are looking for someone who is willing and has a flexible approach to hit the ground running in a fast-paced role. Ideally, you will have experience supporting on programmes and managing complex workload to tight deadlines. In addition, you will be competent at relationship and budget management, administration and events support. Naturally, you’ll be highly organised with excellent time management skills and an effective communicator – both verbally and in writing. Extensive IT experience, including remote meeting tools (Zoom, Sharepoint/Teams, etc), database programmes, and MS Office Suite is essential. Knowledge of or interest in international affairs or human rights is highly desirable.
