Charity People are delighted to be partnering with a hospital charity to recruit a Fundraising Officer to take forward the Legacy and In-Memory programmes for their hospitals.

The Charity has a vision to advance health and well-being, as a local, national, and international leader in clinical care, education, and research. This hospital charity has an ambition to radically grow their income over the next few years. Through inspiring and innovative fundraising, they will be supporting cutting edge research, capital appeals and amazing everyday care for their patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate fundraiser to join the charity’s Legacy Team to take forward the programmes for their hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to strategically develop the charity’s Legacy and In-Memory fundraising programmes and to expand the range of related activities and events.

Reporting to the Head of Legacies, your role exists to grow the Legacy fundraising programme and oversee the legacy supporter journey for the hospitals’ prospects, enquirers, intenders and pledgers. You will advise and guide legacy supporters on all aspects related to their giving. The Fundraising Officer will manage legacy fundraising activities, lead a project to develop the fundraising programme with the aim of growing this income stream for the hospitals, as well as support and actively participate in cross- team projects and activities. You will also build relationships with colleagues across the hospitals to develop and grow fundraising programmes.

This position is best suited to fundraiser with a background in marketing and/or product development with a proven interest in building relationships with individuals. The successful candidates will have strong project management experience, along with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will also have strong negotiation and persuasion skills with a wide range of stakeholders, an ability to work as part of a team but also use initiative and have a calm and professional attitude. Knowledge of fundraising databases such as Raisers Edge is desirable.
