Case: Benjamin Mendy released on bail

In pre-trial detention since last August, Benjamin Mendy was released on bail. Justice has indeed released the French after a hearing in Chester court on Friday. But the left side suspended by Manchester City will have to respect some strict instructions, starting with a house arrest. The former Monegasque will also have to return his passport and avoid any contact with the complainants.

Before his trial which could take place on June 27 or August 1, a new hearing will be held on January 24 and will require the presence of Benjamin Mendy, threatened with an arrest warrant in case of absence. As a reminder, the player accused of seven rapes and an attempted sexual assault, in facts between October 2020 and August 2021, risks a life sentence.
