Two months after the start of a deadly pandemic that originated in the demilitarized zone and that devastated the United States and North Korea, “Carter” wakes up with no memory of the past. There’s a mysterious device in his head and a deadly device in his mouth. A strange voice that only he hears tells him what to do. The bomb can explode at any moment, unless he manages to save the child who is the only antidote to the virus, but to do so he will have to deal with the CIA and the North Korean coup leaders.

Directed by Carter is Byung-gil Jung, who got noticed in 2017 at the Cannes Film Festival thanks to his The Assassin, much appreciated as a mash-up between Kill Bill, John Wick and Nikita. Among the director’s next projects is Afterburn, starring Gerard Butler: at the center of the plot we find a group of treasure hunters who, in a post-apocalyptic world, search for ancient relics on planet Earth that are at risk of destruction due to a solar flare.
