But not Ukraine? This song could win the ESC 2022

Who will follow in Måneskin’s footsteps? Last year the Italian band won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Zitti E Buoni”. On May 14th the singing competition goes into the next round. With Ukraine on everyone’s lips due to the war, ESC fans suspect the Ukrainian entry could win. But now there is a different prognosis: An ESC song is the most successful on Spotify!

The music provider Spotify has also done a data analysis for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest this year: Based on the worldwide streams between March 2021 and April 2022, Italy’s contribution “Brivid” is from mahmood and Blanco the most streamed ESC song 2022. In the meantime, the song has recorded an impressive 80,005,402 streams. According to this, Italy has a very good chance of winning again this year, because Spotify correctly predicted the winners last year.

The song “Stefania” by the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra is the most streamed foreign ESC song 2022 in at least five of the 40 participating countries. It takes first place in Georgia, Latvia, Moldova, Poland and the Czech Republic. The song has been streamed over six million times on Spotify worldwide.
