Bold cutouts, transparency and more fashion trends: what did celebrities wear to the Latin Grammys?

O Latin Grammy 2022 delivered remarkable moments for Brazilian music – with the victory of Ludmilla and Liniker – and also powerful looks! Awards guests and nominees squandered style on the red carpet and during the ceremony.

For you to stay on top of the looks used by the artists, the Purepeople brought together the fashion highlights – from the most classic to the most daring🇧🇷 – below and also in the gallery with more than 20 photos.

Sheer adds spice to the long look

Anita and Giulia Be bet on productions with transparency at the event: in addition to shining with a replica of Xuxa’s iconic look, the performer of “Envolver” wore a long black dress, exclusive to Monôt, which highlighted the hip area thanks to the thinner fabric.

Giulia Be wore a pink dress with crossover neckline and with woven fabric. The look is the brainchild of designer Cheng-Huai Chuang, a native of Taiwan and raised in New York. The artist’s outfit was defined as “Alien Disco Queen” by her stylist, Anita Rodrigues.

Cutouts are pushed to the limit at the Latin Grammys

The awards also showed that the cut out trend will not go out of style anytime soon: Ludmilla’s metallic purple dress, by Di Petsa, had several cuts. In different sizes and regions of the body, they ensured a modern and daring look for the winner of the Best Samba/Pagode Album.

Marina Sena from Minas Gerais also appeared with a dress that took the cutouts to the limit. In red, her outfit is by Chinese designer Haixi Ren, whose pieces have previously been chosen by international names like Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

Metallic: classic or futuristic?

Sure bets for the summer, the metallic palette was another Latin Grammy standout. Luisa SonzaRosalia, and Thalía were some of the names that bet on this trend.

While international artists preferred more classic productions, Sonza appeared in a look that was custom-made by Chinese fashion designer Weiran. With a futuristic style, the look was styled by Sonza’s stylist, Victor Miranda, to represent “the materialization of the next steps of the singer’s splendorous trajectory”.

Black looks gain extra charm

Whatever the awards or red carpet, the the presence of black is unanimity🇧🇷 In this edition of the Latin Grammy, some of the artists who turned to him were Simaria, Christina Aguilera and Maiara.

Simaria’s sister preferred a piece with a more “dark” mood, with a high collar and deep slit. Aguilera combined black with volume and lots of ruffles. The sertaneja opted for an exclusive Balmain with silver applications in the collar region. Check out these and more looks in the gallery above!
