Previously, when Tariq had left the direction, the studio defined that Beau DeMayo would be responsible for reformulating the story of the film.

At the moment, in addition to Ali, the cast also includes Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre. No other actors were cast.

Blade premieres in 2023

The film has a promising future in the MCU

With a new writer and director, Blade has a promising future in the MCU. Starrbury is writing an entirely new script, and the possible 1920s story may have been left out.

Despite rumors of a story being set in the past, it’s possible the idea will continue. Both the director and screenwriter have worked on period pieces.

The Blade reboot is one of Marvel’s more turbulent projects, just as Fantastic Four was, given the difficulty of creating a new story within the MCU.

Rumors pointed out that the star, Mahershala Ali, was not satisfied with the first story presented, as well as Marvel Studios.

In addition, the delay in defining a new creative team explains why Marvel has delayed the reboot of Blade.

The feature film was scheduled to be released on November 3, 2023, and will now arrive on September 9, 2024.

The production is part of Marvel’s Phase 5, which has seen some films postponed recently, with many still in development.

Blade hits theaters on September 9, 2024.
