The studio issued a statement signed by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito e Nate Moore confirming the shutdown after Letitia Wright having an accident on set. With that, the actress will have more time to recover.

Check the note:

“As we wrap up the holiday, we’d like to send you a note of thanks and appreciation for the hard work of our entire cast and crew, as well as an update on the weather. First of all, this project is exceptional and something we know the public is eager to see. We couldn’t be more excited to complete this movie and share it with the world next year. Thank you for everything you did to get us to this place.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get here without some setbacks. Running a production of this scale in the middle of a pandemic is no easy task, and you have remained diligent and professional throughout. Also, as everyone knows, Letitia had a scary accident on our set during a stunt in August. It was a reminder of the importance of safety at all times in our work, which we know you understand and are committed to. What we initially thought were minor injuries turned out to be far more serious, with Letitia suffering a critical shoulder fracture and concussion with serious side effects. It has been a painful process and Letitia is at home recovering with her doctors and family support.

Enjoy watching:

We’ve adjusted our production schedule so she has the time she needs to catch up, but there’s not much we can do without Shuri!

From now on, we are scheduled to resume filming – with Letitia – in January 2022. We are all focused on finishing the film with excellence, honoring the memory of our dear brother Chadwick in the process. We are excited to share Qantera Negra: Wakanda Forever with the world, confident that the challenges we overcome together as a team will make the film even more impactful. Please take care and enjoy your vacation.

-Kevin, Louis e Nate”

No Twitter, some users shared their dissatisfaction with the fact that the actress has not yet been vaccinated against Covid-19, which would prevent her entry on US soil – directly affecting the production schedule of the film.

On the social network, internet users made an appeal to Marvel Studios, calling for the resignation of the actress, as well as the rescheduling of the hero T’Challa.

Check out some of the reactions:

“Rescale her and T’Challa and move on.”

“At this point, shelve the film temporarily. Use the multiverse to introduce a ‘new’ Shuri and possibly a new T’Chall or something.”

“Chadwick’s brother literally gave people his blessing to reschedule T’Challa. Marvel is doing all this nonsense for fear of losing money. They will already lose money anyway! Black Panther does not always have a future for Black Panther”.

“Yes. I know it wasn’t popular opinion at the time and this is still a very emotionally sensitive subject for everyone – family, fans, cast and crew. But I still think at some point we’ll see another actor taking on the role of T’Challa.”

Remembering that filming of the sequence should be resumed in early 2022.

Wright suffered an injury on set in Boston earlier this year during a scene involving equipment. Coogler and her crew have spent the last two months filming basically every scene in the movie that doesn’t require her to be there. the sudden death of Chadwick Boseman last year raised the position of Wright in the franchise, and she will be the protagonist.

The movie release has been delayed from July 8, 2022 for November 11, 2022.

“Both Wakanda and Atlantis are hidden civilizations with advanced technology and greater military capabilities that decided to separate themselves from the rest of the world for their own safety and, in a way, out of fear. Wakanda feared that his technology would be abused. Alantis feared that the surface dwellers would desecrate the mythical city as they did so many years ago

However, their fears are further heightened when these two nations, once hidden, collide with each other. Wakanda and Atlantis have a surprisingly intertwined history. Wakanda is the only country in the world with access to vibranium. however, rumors of its power are spreading around the world, and Namor’s human father has been sent to search Antarctica for this rare material. The war will start.”
