‘Black Panther 2’: Director confirms CONNECTION between Riri Williams and Tony Stark

🇧🇷Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘ introduces to the MCU the well-known heroine Ironheart, alter-ego of Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne🇧🇷

In the comics, Williams is inspired by Tony Stark’s legacy and also creates her own AI-powered armor, using parts of the hero’s technology.

And, during an interview for DesiNerd, director Ryan Coogler confirmed that the film also features a connection between Williams and Stark.

“I don’t want to spoil anything out there. I know you haven’t seen the movie yet… But yes, there is a connection between her and Tony in the movie. It’s a complicated connection, to be honest. And Riri is a supporting character in this movie, so she’s kind of there in tandem with a lot of the other characters. But she plays an important role and we find out how she became who she is when we meet her in this film.”

Obviously, the filmmaker did not want to give details about this connection between the characters.

However, the source material shows Williams as a student at MIT… And, within the MCU, Stark launched a scholarship in partnership with the institution in ‘Captain America: Civil War’🇧🇷

So it is possible that the link between them is just that.

Some weeks ago, Thorne talked to Entertainment Weekly and said that Williams won’t be a typical heroine because she still doesn’t see herself as such.

“I love the fact that she is totally herself. She is definitely not the typical or traditional superhero. She’s very… Well, Riri Williams, she thinks she’s just a 19-year-old student in the midst of all this Ironheart stuff, let’s just say the penny hasn’t sunk in yet.”

She continued:

“She brings a different kind of energy, but she also has some similarities to characters we’ve seen in this universe before. In this movie, we see Shuri meet someone who has some things in common with her, but also many, many differences.”

Williams first appeared in 2016, in the comic book series written by Eve Ewing🇧🇷 Once Tony Stark was left in a coma after Civil War II, the world needed a new Iron Man, and the 15-year-old prodigy created her own armor, which impressed Stark to the point where he created an artificial intelligence out of himself. even to help her.

Remember that the film is already showing in theaters.
