Black Panther 2 CGI Divides Marvel Fans on Social Media

A critical and public success, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After made history with the highest-grossing opening of the month of November. The Marvel film garners praise for its cast’s performance, the introduction of new characters, and its respect for Chadwick Boseman’s legacy. The special effects, on the other hand, divide the opinion of the fans.

“Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect Wakanda from international intervention following the death of King T’Challa. As the people struggle to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must team up with Nakia and Everett Ross to forge a new path for the beloved realm.

Black Panther 2 CGI Causes Controversy Among Marvel Fans

Special effects are essential to the success of Marvel movies. After all, a good part of the MCU action is told exclusively in computer graphics.

In recent years, several Marvel projects have been criticized for “poorly done” special effects. The She-Hulk series is a prime example. Even before the release, the production was already detonated by the look of the protagonist.

Series like Ms. Marvel were also detonated by the “amateur” content of the special effects. In theatrical releases, on the other hand, Marvel commits a large chunk of the budget to CGI.

Even so, Thor: Love and Thunder was also criticized for the quality of its CGI. In Black Panther 2, the situation seems to have been resolved. Even so, some fans still criticize Disney’s special effects.

“The special effects of Black Panther 2 are not so good… especially in the Talokan scenes,” commented one viewer on Twitter.

According to some fans, one of the worst moments in Black Panther 2’s CGI takes place in the film’s final battle.

“There’s a bad CGI moment in the final battle, with the fire effects – but nothing that ruins the viewers’ experience,” explained another fan.

This opinion, however, comes from a small (but scandalous) minority. For most viewers, the effects of Wakanda Forever are great.

“The CGI of Wakanda Forever After is amazing. I can’t believe such quality. I don’t know what happened in Thor 4, but they definitely got their budget back. The look is immaculate,” said another fan.

Most fans also claim that Black Panther 2’s special effects surpass all recent Marvel releases. They are even better than the ones in the first movie.

“Black Panther 2 destroys the other Marvel movies in every visual aspect,” commented one fan on Reddit.
