Bilaspur. Bilaspur Crime News: After two years, the police has arrested a bank manager from Odisha, who absconded after taking out a loan of Rs 50 lakh in the name of six farmers of Sarkanda area. His accomplice had already been caught by the police. Sarkanda police station in-charge Prabandha Tiwari said that Prabodh Kumar Das, a resident of Angul, Odisha, was a deputy manager in Axis Bank Rajkishore Nagar branch in 2016. During this, he along with Hiralal Sahu, a resident of Dhaunrabhatha of Hiri area, got a loan of Rs 50 lakh separately in the names of six farmers. The farmers were not aware of this. A letter was sent from the bank to the farmers for non-payment of loan installment.
On coming to know about the fraud, the farmers complained to the Sarkanda police station. After the matter was opened, the bank manager absconded. At the same time, the police arrested his accomplice Hiralal. Later in 2019, two more farmers complained against the bank manager. On this, the police was looking for the absconding bank manager by registering a crime. During investigation, it was found that the accused is working in a private bank residing in Odisha. On this, the police raided and arrested the accused bank manager.
Hiralal absconded after getting bail
Sarkanda police station in-charge said that in the four cases registered in 2016, the police arrested the accused Hiralal and sent him to jail. After this, two more cases were registered in 2019. Meanwhile, the accused was granted bail. After getting bail, the accused absconded. In two cases, the accused Hiralal will be arrested soon.
