There was a lot of ruckus in a girls hostel located in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Minority community girl students residing here on Saturday afternoon expressed their displeasure over the hostel superintendent being instructed to wear burqa inside the campus. The girls pelted stones at the gate of the hostel. He alleged that the Taliban were trying to enforce Sharia law in the hostel superintendent campus.
Darksha Anwar, a student said, “Whenever we wear pants, the superintendent abuses the girl students. She also gives wrong information to our parents that we talk to boys.

Neda Fatima, a research scholar, said, “Wearing burqa in the summer season in Bihar is not easy, therefore, we sometimes wear pants and t-shirts inside the campus. Whenever she sees a girl student in pants, she scolds and reprimands her.

On receiving information about the incident, Smita Jha, circle officer of Nath Nagar reached the girls hostel along with the police team and handled the matter. The hostel superintendent denied the allegations leveled against him by the girl students. The matter has also reached the District Education Officer. Smita Jha said, ‘We have taken the statements of the girl students and the superintendent. At present the investigation is going on. We will soon submit the inquiry report to the District Education Officer.
