Bhupendra Patel is the MLA from the same seat before which former CM Anandiben Patel used to be. Bhupendra Patel is considered very close to Anandiben. Former CM Vijay Rupani, who resigned, proposed the name of Bhupendra Patel. After the legislature party meeting, Union Minister Narendra Tomar announced the name of Bhupendra Patel. The special thing is that Bhupendra Patel became MLA for the first time in 2017 and after five years now he is going to become the Chief Minister.
Bhupendra Patel is the MLA from Ghathlodiya seat of Gujarat. He has a strong hold on the BJP organization. Prior to this, he was the chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority. Patel has also been the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. In the 2017 assembly elections, Patel defeated Congress candidate Shashikant Patel by nearly one lakh 17 thousand votes. Bhupendra Patel, a dedicated worker of BJP, is also counted among the leaders close to Amit Shah. Bhupendra Patel comes from the Patidar community. The Patidars were said to be angry with the BJP. In such a situation, Bhupendra Patel will have a big responsibility to bring the party back to power by winning the elections. Patel has studied civil engineering.
