Bhilai. A family returning from Raipur to Devbaloda Charoda after celebrating Teeja became a victim of an accident on Friday night. Five members of the family were returning home on the same bike. On the way, the bike became uncontrollable due to the mud filled in the pothole of the road near DMC and all the people fell down. There was also a 12 year old on the bike. Who fell on the National Highway and a truck coming from behind crushed his head. Three other people were also injured there. In which the condition of a girl child is more serious. Who has been admitted to the district hospital. On getting information about the incident, the Kumhari police sent the body to the mortuary and lodged an FIR against the accused truck driver.
According to reports, Laxminarayan Chelak, a resident of Devbaloda Charoda, was returning home from Raipur on Friday night on his bike with his wife Maya Chelak, son Karan Chelak (12), daughter Shraddha Chelak (8) and Pihu (6). His wife had gone to Raipur to celebrate Teeja. From there they were returning back to their homes. Everyone was on the same bike. His bike became uncontrollable due to the mud scattered on the road near DMC Kumhari and all the people fell down. Sitting in the middle, Karan Chelak came in the middle of the National Highway. During this, a truck coming from behind crushed his head and he died on the spot. Apart from this, Karan’s mother Maya Chelak and both sisters Shraddha and Pihu were also injured. The people who were luring from there got everyone admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Out of which Pihu’s condition worsened, she has been referred to the district hospital.
There are huge potholes on the road near DMC. More accidents were taking place after those pits were filled with water due to rain. For this reason, the pits there were filled with murram. But, two wheelers from Muram were facing a lot of trouble and the vehicles are getting out of control. On Friday night too, the vehicle went out of control due to Murom. Due to which this accident happened.
Four people have died within a week due to road accident. Earlier on Wednesday, three people died after being hit by a dumper near Navataria Khedamara. That incident also happened due to bad road. After the protests of the people in that incident, the administration has started repairing the road by doing patchwork. However, repairs are not being done anywhere on the National Highway roads.
TI potter SN Singh said that a child, Karan Chelak, died in the incident. While his sister Pihu Chelak is seriously injured. The accused truck driver has been arrested near Bhilai-3. Action is being taken against him under the section of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
