Beyoncé’s new song “Break My Soul” features a sample by Robin S.’ to hear “Show Me Love”. The singer now thanked Queen Bey.

Club icon Robin S. (60) is overjoyed. In the 90s, the singer became world famous with her dance track “Show Me Love”. In recent years, however, things have been quiet about the American – until this week. In the night from Monday to Tuesday (June 21), pop star Beyoncé (40) released her long-awaited new song “Break My Soul”. And the song sounded familiar to many – it contains a sample by Robin S.’ “Show Me Love”.

On Wednesday Robin S. spoke about it on “Good Morning Britain”.how grateful she is to Beyoncé. “This is Robin S. and this message goes out to Queen Bey herself, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, to the whole team. Thank you for giving me my flowers while I’m still alive. I’m honored and so am I I’m excited to see what else can happen,” said the 60-year-old.

Robin S.: Collaboration with Beyoncé would be “the dream”

Beyoncé did not contact her before using the sample. She found out about it from her son. “My son called me and he said, ‘Mom, mom, you’re trending everywhere,'” she said. In the future, Robin S. could well imagine working with Beyoncé: “It’s always the dream.”

“Break My Soul” is the new single from Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album Renaissance, due out July 29.
