The Heverlee police were carrying out checks on the Bodart car park on Monday. An action which unfortunately gave rise to an unpleasant surprise for the agents when they took an interest in a school bus. While several students were on board after a day of school, the driver tested positive for alcohol. “His driving license was immediately revoked for 15 days,” Chief Inspector Mathieu Caudron told Laatste Nieuws.

Another driver was called in to allow the children to return home. “No offense was found for the other drivers and buses checked”, adds the chief inspector. On the side of De Lijn, for whom the positive-tested person worked, it was amazement. “We heard the news yesterday. The subcontractor was immediately notified and another driver was called. Let me be clear, we take these facts very seriously. We will take appropriate sanctions, ”confirms the spokesperson to our Flemish colleagues.
