ATP FINALS. Rafael Nadal eliminated after second loss in a row, Alcaraz closes season as number 1.

Rafael Nadal (ATP 2) flirts with the elimination at the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy. The Spanish former world number one also lost his second match against the young Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP 6).

The 22-year-old Canadian recently won the European Open in Antwerp and went to Turin with confidence. However, he lost his first match against Norwegian Casper Ruud. Also Nadal could not win his first match, the American Taylor Fritz was too strong in two sets.

In their second match, both ‘losers’ faced each other and a win was indicated to possibly advance to the next round. Auger-Aliassime did what he had to do and only needed two sets to beat Nadal: 6-3 and 6-4.

The Canadian is coached by Toni Nadal, Rafael’s uncle and longtime mentor, so he knew how to fight back. An early elimination threatens Nadal.
