Apple TV +: Seth Rogen will star in the new series of the streaming platform

From the makers of Veep comes a new Apple TV+ series starring Seth Rogen as actor, director and co-writer.

The multifaceted actor and voice actor Seth Rogers will be very active in the new series from production and distribution company Lionsgate for the platform Apple TV+, of which he will be the protagonist, director and screenwriter. Few details released so far: it is known that it will center on an old-fashioned Hollywood film studio struggling to get by in a world where commerce and art must coexist.

We will soon be able to see Seth Rogen at the cinema in The Fabelmans, the acclaimed autobiographical film by Steven Spielberg to be released in Italy on December 22, in the role of the substitute for Benny, the protagonist’s uncle, and the actor will lend his voice to Donkey Kong in the expected Super Mario Bros of Illumination. Meanwhile, Rogen is starring in Dumb Money, the film about the case of the soaring Game Stop stock in 2021, again with Paul Dano and director Craig Gillipsie, who also directed it in Pam&Tommy.

Very busy, yet Rogen has already announced his involvement in the next series which he will direct and star in for Apple TV+ and which he will co-write with Evan Goldberg, with whom he has collaborated on films such as Suxbad – Three chins above the fur, Smoke yourself, Let’s get it over with, The Interview and Good Boys – Those bad boysas well as in series such as preacher And The Boysadaptations of the comics of the same name, again Pam & Tommy, and in the animated series for adults which will be produced by Amazon and designed as an animated sequel to Sausage Party – The Secret Life of a Sausage. But the collaborations already tested for this new production do not end here. The showrunners of the Apple TV+ series will be Peter Huyck and Alex Gregorya team already known for having contributed to the success of Veep – Incompetent Vice Presidentbroadcast in Italy on Sky Atlantic, and for collaborations with the Late Show With David Letterman and with series such as Frasier, King of the Hill, The Larry Sanders Show and the miniseries The White House Plumbersalso scheduled for HBO in the future.

Rogen and Goldberg will also executive produce alongside James Weaver for their Point Gray Picture Production banner. This will be Rogen’s second time working on a series for Apple TV+, directed by Nick Stoller and Rose Byrne with whom she had worked with him on Bad neighbors and its sequel Bad neighbors 2 and in the upcoming series Platoniccentered on two childhood friends who are reunited after years of separation.
