“Ant-Man 3”: MCU poster presents for the first time the most important Marvel villains of the next few years

The first poster of Ant-Man 3 is finally here. This is where we see new MCU villain Kang the Conqueror for the first time.

Marvel fans got their money’s worth at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Because finally the plans for phase 5 and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have been announced, which together with phase 4 will be titled “Multiverse Saga”. Two new Avengers movies, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, have also been confirmed. The new villain of the saga will Kan the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), who made his film debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will celebrate and thus heralds phase 5 of the MCU.

Andy Park, who has worked as director of visual development and concept artist on WandaVision, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, among others, and is also working on the third Ant-Man film, has via twitter that first official posters published on the Marvel work:

The poster gives us the first official impression of Kang, who will face the heroes as a new villain. An alternate variant of Kang called The One Who Stays appeared in the Marvel series Loki. If you want to know more about the Marvel Multiverse, watch our video:

More than one Marvel villain awaits us

In addition to Scott Lang aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyke aka Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), the poster also shows Scott’s daughter Cassie in her own suit for the first time. This is played for the first time in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” by Kathryn Newton (“Pokémon Detective Pikachu”) and follows in her father’s footsteps, presumably as in the comics under her superhero name Stature. Previously, the much younger version of the character was played by Emma Fuhrmann in Avengers: Endgame.

In addition to Kang, fans can look forward to more villains. Hollywood legend Billy Murray will be there as an unnamed villain, as will the villain MODOK, who also has his own animated series on Disney +, which, however, does not belong to the MCU. Also, last year there were rumors that Corey Stoll would be returning in some form as Darren Cross from the first Ant-Man movie. Its participation has not (yet) been officially confirmed. We will find out what we can finally expect in “Ant-Man 3” at the latest February 15, 2023when the film starts in cinemas in Germany.
