At the time, Andrew Garfield was making his way into Hollywood. The Spider-Man actor was desperate for a role, which led to him auditioning for The Chronicles of Narnia.

“I thought, ‘This could be it, this could be it.’ And then the handsome and brilliant Ben Barnes got the part. I think it was between me and him, I was obsessed,” the actor recalled to Entertainment Tonight.

Upon losing the role, the Marvel star sought out his agent to understand why he lost his job. She was sincere.

“She ended up breaking my insistence and saying, ‘They didn’t think you’re handsome enough, Andrew,’” the Peter Parker actor recalled. “Ben Barnes is very handsome and talented. In retrospect, I’m not sad about the decision because I think he did a great job.”
