Alice in Borderland becomes Netflix’s most watched Japanese series
Last week, Season 2 of Alice in Borderland broke two major Netflix records.
In the first, the series became the most watched Japanese live-action production in the history of Netflix.
Still in that same period, the series broke records as one of the most watched non-English language productions in a week.
Compared to Season 1 of Alice in Borderland, for example, the new episodes were watched for triple the number of hours.
“Alice in Borderland was watched for over 61 million hours between December 19th and 25th! Welcome to Netflix’s Asian diaspora,” commented one profile on Twitter.
Season 1, meanwhile, was watched for an estimated 18 million hours during the same one-week period.
Fans, as usual, celebrated the record on social networks – where the series, every now and then, appears among the most talked about subjects.
“Did you already know that Alice in Borderland season 2 is officially the most viewed Japanese series in a week?” commented one viewer on Twitter.
For many fans, Alice in Borderland deserves all of Season 2’s success. According to viewers, the series should be “the most popular on Netflix”.
“Alice in Borderland deserves the spotlight, to be honest. Should be #1 on Netflix!” commented one fan on the site.
More than two weeks after its premiere, Alice in Borderland remains in Netflix’s Brazilian Top 10, this time in 10th position.
With this great success, the movement to renew Alice in Borderland for Season 3 gains a lot of strength.
While Alice in Borderland is not renewed for Season 3, you can check out all episodes of the series on Netflix.
