Ajax O17 had a hard time with ADO Den Haag O17. They managed to win 1-0 through a striking penalty from Don-Angelo Konadu. Jan Faberski made his comeback after injury.
In the twelfth minute, Don O’niel was close to scoring the opening goal. He hit the crossbar after Konadu intercepted a back pass. Eight minutes later, ADO Den Haag O17 was close to 0-1. After a quick combination, the ADO striker came one on one with keeper Freek Entius, but he was quick and saved. After half an hour, Konadu made a spectacular attempt with an overhead kick, but the ball ended up in the keeper’s hands. A few minutes later, Kayden Wolff had a great chance for the opening goal. After a quick counter, he shot the ball through a defender’s leg into the side net. Moments later, Ajax U17 again had two great chances to make it 1-0, but Wolff was unable to pass the goalkeeper after a nice action past two defenders. On the rebound, a shot from O’niel was cleared off the line.
After the break it took a long time before the first good chance was a fact. In the 64th minute Konadu was taken to the ground and wanted a penalty kick, but the referee did not agree. Ajax O17 largely had the ball and had some chances, but the ball went around too slowly to make it difficult for ADO Den Haag O17. After just under seventy minutes, Faberski made his comeback after injury. A few minutes later he was close to 1-0, but his free kick went just over. In the 76th minute, Ajax U17 received a penalty, due to a handball after Faberski’s cut. Konadu took his responsibility and managed to break the ban for Ajax U18. The keeper was still touching it, but could not stop the penalty in the left corner.
