Ajax and Seville are still negotiating an early return of Lucas Ocampos to Seville, reports ASH. The Argentinian made the switch on a rental basis from the Spanish team to Ajax last summer. However, this rental period turns out dramatically for the Argentinian. Ocampos played just 114 minutes in the first half of the season.
Ajax and Sevilla are currently negotiating an early return of Ocampos to Spain. Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli would like to add the attacker to his selection after his team is in a dramatic eighteenth position. In addition, the coach has previously worked with Ocampos at the Argentinian national team and would like to see a reunion.
Ocampos signed for one season in Amsterdam. Ajax had to transfer a rent of four million euros to Seville at the time. The wish of the Spanish team is that nothing of this amount is touched now. Sevilla would also like to see Ajax continue to pay the Argentinian’s salary until the end of the original rental period, although the Amsterdammers think otherwise.
Ocampos may be a burden to Alfred Schreuder’s squad due to his lack of playing time. Therefore, both teams are now in negotiations to allow Ocampos to return to Seville. Whether the parties will reach an agreement soon remains to be seen. In addition, the attacker craves playing minutes. The last game Ocampos played in was on October 12, 2022.
