‘Ajax allows Ocampos to return to Seville definitively early’

Lucas Ocampos seems to end his adventure at Ajax in January, the Spanish sports newspaper reports ASH. The Argentinian attacker is currently playing on a rental basis for the team from Amsterdam, but will return to Seville after half a season after a disappointing period in the Netherlands.

At Ajax, Ocampos has so far played 114 minutes. The Argentinian did not score in that, nor was he a single time declarant. In Spain, Jorge Sampaoli was recently appointed as the new coach of Sevilla and he immediately set his sights on a return of Ocampos. Sampaoli worked with Ocampos in the national team and sees a reunion at Sevilla.

A winter return therefore seems imminent for the Argentinian, who saw his World Cup dream fall apart at Ajax. Ocampos even played more minutes in three matches for Sevilla this season than in the tight six months at Ajax.

Transfer soap Ocampos

Ocampos would make a permanent switch to Ajax in the past transfer period. The team from Amsterdam already seemed to have agreed on a transfer amount of twenty million euros. However, the Supervisory Board put a stop to this at the last minute. Sevilla and Ajax then came to an agreement about a rental period with a rental fee of four million euros.
