Talk show host Jay Leno released from special clinic

US show host Jay Leno suffered severe burns in his garage last week. After a skin transplant, the comedian can now leave the hospital. However, the 72-year-old has not yet fully recovered.

Jay Leno has been released from the hospital. In a photo published by West Hills Hospital on Instagram, the legendary US talk show host can be seen surrounded by five clinic employees. All six beam into the camera. Large scars can be seen on Leno’s neck and arm. The scars on his chest are covered by his loose denim shirt.

“It has been a pleasure caring for Jay Leno and we wish him a speedy recovery,” the Grossman Burn Center commented on the photo. dr Peter Grossman added in a statement, according to US media: “I am pleased with Jay’s progress and am optimistic that he will make a full recovery.”

Leno suffered second- and third-degree burns in a fire in his Burbank garage in mid-November. Skin grafts were then necessary. After a 10-day stay at the specialist facility, the 72-year-old will now be transferred to the Grossman Burns Outpatient Unit, where he will continue to receive care.

Leno is one of the most successful talk show hosts in the USA and is best known as the host of “The Tonight Show”. He took over the role of talk show host from Johnny Carson in 1992 and ran the show until 2009. Leno was briefly followed by Conan O’Brien until Leno returned to the show in 2010 and hosted it until 2014. Since then, Jimmy Fallon has hosted The Tonight Show.

Leno is also known as a collector of sports cars, vintage cars and motorcycles. His column “Jay Leno’s Garage” for “Popular Mechanics” magazine became a TV show in 2015, which the comedian hosts himself.
