96-year-old Queen Elizabeth is back in the public space – to great cheers!

Health is teasing, and she has therefore recently canceled several official commitments, but on Friday she suddenly showed up for a royal horse show in Windsor in her Range Rover.

The queen arrived in high spirits and stayed, according to British media Daily Mail received with the hat and applause.

“The 96-year-old monarch, casually dressed in sunglasses and pink lipstick, appeared to be in fine shape and in good spirits when she saw her horse Balmoral Leia take part in the show, which begins the celebration of her platinum anniversary,” he writes. Daily Mail.

With the help of her cane, the queen followed the horse show with, among others, her son, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie – and as the Daily Mail reports, the queen could even leave with a trophy in hand when one of her horses won a competition.

Earlier this week, Queen Elizabeth had to cancel her inaugural speech in the British Parliament – something she had previously only missed twice, namely in 1959 and in 1963, when she was pregnant.

In addition, she has, among other things, canceled several royal ‘garden parties’ during May and June, but after her latest public appearance, British royal fans can hope to see even more of her during the upcoming celebration of her 70 years as regent.

In connection with this week’s cancellation of the parliamentary opening, it was stated in a press release from the Royal House that the Queen, who turned 96 on 21 April, still has ‘episodic problems with mobility’.

In addition, on the occasion of her regent’s anniversary, royal fans can soon look forward to a new BBC documentary about Queen Elizabeth, where they have access to old home videos recorded by the Queen herself, her parents and her late husband, Prince Phillip.

The documentary will premiere in the UK on 29 May.
