After escape: Edith Stehfest's rapist was caught

Edith Stehfest is relieved! The musician has had a terrible time: she was raped as a teenager – and had to reappraise the experience when the perpetrator was tried again last year. Actually, her tormentor should have started his prison sentence in January, but that didn’t happen: the convicted rapist had gone into hiding. Now can Edith but breathe easy: The fugitive was caught and has to go to jail.

Opposite to picture the 27-year-old now confirmed that the perpetrator was arrested. He was caught by the authorities at the airport in Lisbon. “I’m completely speechless. I just didn’t expect it at this point”stressed Edith. Although she already knew that the man had last been in Portugal, she did not think that he could be stopped after months of flight. “I’m very positively surprised and grateful,” said the wife of GZSZ star Eric Stehfest (32).

Although the past few years have been anything but easy for the native of Leipzig, today she is happy to have gone public with her story. “I’m sure that my courage, my loudness, have contributed to the fact that the case does not get out of the public eye.”, she said.
